Current Issues
Water
A current issue is represented by the water management, a vital resource for life and yet subject to speculation because of the current scarcity. Etica SGR in its ethical analysis and active shareholding activity evaluate a company’s effort in the optimization of the water management and the efficient utilization of the water resources as well as the efforts in reduction of the pollution in the ground water.
Etica SGR pays high attention to the rates applied by the utilities managing public water and efficient water cycle management. Etica SGR’s board of director declared a grace period in the investments in water managing companies until a new set of social and environmental evaluation criteria will be approved. Water utilities, due to the sector, are subject to a deeper analysis than the one applied to the other companies

These initiatives involve especially textile companies (regarding forced labor, slavery and child labor), airlines and hotel chains (concerning the issue of human organ trafficking and child prostitution).
